No contact phone number for updated Books is available anywhere and have NOT been reimbursed by Amazon.Never Again. I ordered The Heroin Diaries-Nikki Six Book on April 10 2009.July 1 2009 I still have no book.
There was not a dull moment in the book. Being a Motley fan for many years, this book was a must buy for me. You will definately know where a song from "Saints Of Los Angeles" came from. This is a must read for any Crue fan after reading "The Dirt". I must say it was a wild ride from start to finish. Really shed some light on the way that Nikki was living.
There are also several sections of lyrics that were taken from the dairy entrees.I recommend this book to anyone, regardless of your a Motley Crue fan or not. It's humorous in several parts as Nikki describes the effect of the drugs and the "Mexicans with army helmets hiding in the trees constantly trying to break into his house by turning into gas and going under the cracks of the doors." and the puns that Motley pulled on tour (like lighting hotel doors on fire and then blaming other people when the hotel managers come to kick them out). (Nikki Sixx, James Michaels, and DJ Ashba). There are even times when Nikki himself comments on entrees and is actually clueless on what he meant.
This is my favorite biography. The book is loaded with diary entrees from Nikki in 1987, along with commentaries from Nikki, the band, and the people in his life as they read the entrees themselves. All the songs on the album are based off of feelings that were felt back then and while creating the book. It's actually written from one of Nikki Sixx (Motley Crue) diaries while he was going through a year of heroin addiction in 1987.
This book also inspired the album "The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack" by Sixx:A.M. The pages are visual eye-catching with drawings, photos, and artwork. The book starts on Christmas 1986 and then follow through while on Motley's 'Girls, Girls, Girls' Tour until the end of 1987.This is a very twisted book with many angles to interpret it from. The fact that the book is based off of real events and actual writings from Nikki makes the book extremely sad and surreal.
Then to see my husband, who barely reads a magazine article, read it within a week. I grew up listening to Motley Crue but wasn't the biggest fan of Nikki's. I've already read it several times as well as friends and family. It is that gripping. However this book is so true of the disease of addiction. I bought it and read it within a couple of days.
Book was fantastic. Wow what an interesting read and insight in to the mind of an Addicted Nikki Sixx.
